The easiest way to add homes to your Dwellicious bookmark page is with a bookmarklet. Most likely you already use bookmarklets. Bookmarklets are buttons (links) you add to your browser's Bookmark Toolbar. So, if you already use them but didn't know what they were called - now you do! The "Add to Dwellicious" bookmarklet is a very easy way to add real estate listings to Dwellicious. Here's what an "Add to Dwellicious" bookmarklet looks like:
Now you are ready to bookmark your favorite real estate properties on the internet! Below is a list of the real estate search portals Dwellicious works with.
Keep in mind, when you add a bookmark to your Dwellicious account, we will index and recognize relevant details from these sites. Bookmarks that are not from these sites will not contain details, nor will they be updated when those details change.
You must also remember that to only bookmark properties when you are at the property detail screen, not when you show a list of properties.
Don't see your favorite site? Request that we add it by e-mailing siterequest@dwellicious.com.
When you click on your "Add to Dwellicious" bookmarklet, this is what you will see.
Once you have done adding any "Tags" and notes then press "Create".
Now you can go back to your personal Dwellicious bookmarks page - http://dwellicious.com/username
As you can see using Dwellicious is a simple way to help you organize, share and discuss the search for your next home. We hope you will find new and exciting ways of using Dwellicious.
Dwellicious is a social bookmarking site for people to organize, share, and discuss the search for their next home. Dwellicious is a combination of the word “dwell”, meaning home, and “delicious” meaning yummy!
With Dwellicious you will be able to:
We also give you a set of tools such as mapping, neighborhood info, school info, property valuation, and recent area home sales to help you with your decision-making.
Like other social bookmarking sites your bookmarks will be stored on the web, not your computer, and dwellicious lets you tag bookmarked listings to help highlight feature about each listing. Because bookmarks are stored on the web you will be able to see what others have bookmarked and tagged.
Dwellicious then goes a step further; due to the dynamic nature of real estate data you will also see any changes made to bookmarked listings. Changes could be on price, whether the property is off the market or maybe new photos were added.
When all your favorite homes are in one place, it’s easy to discuss with others (maybe your wife, husband or agent?) what you like or dislike about each home.
I want to try and explain what social bookmarking is and then tell you about how we are planning on giving it a real estate twist with our new web application Dwellicious.
I recommended you take a look at this video. It does a great job of describing social bookmarking "in plain English". But I’ll also try and explain what social bookmarking is here.
Lets imagine you are interested in motorcycles. You love motorcycles. You "ride to live and live to ride motorcycles", as the saying goes. As part of your passion for motorcycles you scour the web for the best motorcycle websites out there. The best ones you "bookmark", but since you are using a social bookmarking service instead of just "add to favorites" on your own browser, your bookmarks are shared with everyone using the service.
Now lets say another kindred spirit, who also loves motorcycles, visits the social bookmarking site you belong to. He types in "motorcycles". Now all the bookmarks that other motorcycle junkies (like you) have made, appear on a list. The motorcycle websites with the most bookmarks are on the top of this list. This is very powerful. What you have in front of you is a list that other humans beings put together about the best websites about motorcycles. Think about that, OTHER HUMAN BEINGS, not a computer, not an advertiser that paid to be on top, not a fancy mathematical program, but other REAL PEOPLE who love the same things you do!

When creating a social bookmarking site for real estate we had a few big challenges. Mostly due to the nature of real estate web sites. So two things stuck out:
So we needed to create bookmarks that could index specific data about a particular listing on a website. And we needed to make sure that the bookmark knew if any of the changes were made and when. In a traditional bookmarking scenario you are just bookmarking a site because it's cool, useful, and you want to visit again. But when you bookmark a real estate listing, that listing might not be there next week or the price might have dropped. What we needed was a "smart bookmark" and that's what we created.
